Candidates for District Office 2014-2015

Candidate for 1st VDG - 2nd VDG Lion Diane Smith

Lion Diane Smith is a proud charter member of the Woolwich Community Lions Club. She has served as Club President twice and has been involved in multiple committees. She has been awarded the Lion of the Year Award, and also a Melvin Jones Fellowship.

Lion Diane has served as a Zone Chair 51W (2011-2012) and as Region Chair 51 (2012-2013) and is currently 2nd Vice District Governor for the District as well as being a CEP facilitator.

Diane is keen to expand on her Lions knowledge, and will be attending ALLI in March.


Candidate for 2nd VDG - RC51 Lion Wayne Litt

Lion Wayne has been actively involved in the Elmira Lions Club since 2007. Willing and able to serve at Club and District Levels, he has served 5 years on the Club Executive, is a PZC of 51 West, and is the present Region 51 Chair.

Lion Wayne is a recipient of the Long Tail Lion Award, the Art Woods Golden Tree, and both the International President’s letter of Commendation, and Certificate of Appreciation. Personal Highlights are service at the Breslau Dog Breeding Facility, and Trail and Memorial Forest planting and maintenance. Wayne is a graduate of the Advanced (Senior) Lions Leadership Institute and is a Certified C.E.P. Facilitator.

Candidate for Region 9 Chair - ZC Lion Kevin Banfield

Lion Kevin has been a member of the Lions Club of Kitchener for 11 years and throughout that time he has served as Club Treasurer, President and Oktoberfest Chair. As well, he is a member of the Citizen of the Year, Santa Claus Parade, and Finance Committees. Kevin has currently taken on the opportunity to serve as Zone Chair in Zone 37 West; and is also the Assistant Marketing Director for the upcoming 2014 LCI Convention in Toronto.

Lion Kevin is a Certified Guiding Lion, and is looking forward to attending the ALLI in Chicago this March.


Candidate for Region 9 Chair - ZC Lion Ajit Manku

Lion Ajit is married to Surinder, they have three children and four grandchildren. Raised in Nairobi, Kenya, Ajit travelled and worked in England, Kenya and Zambia before settling in Canada.

A member of Galt Cambridge Lions Club for 10 years, Lion Ajit has served as Club President, Secretary and Membership Chair. He is the current Zone 9 Chair, and District Cultural and Community Activities Chair.

Ajit has attended the ALLI and two US/Canada Forums; is a Melvin Jones, and Helen Keller Fellow and is a recipient of the Lions International Certificate of Accomplishment.

We Serve is the founding principle of our organization and Lion Ajit strongly believes in giving back to those in need.


Candidate for Region 51 Chair - PZC Lion V. Charlene Teasdale

Lion Charlene has been a very active and enthusiastic Lion since joining the Campbellford Lions of A3, February 2005, then transferring into the Guelph Lions in September 2009. She has served on numerous Club Committees; LFC Walk for Dog Guides Chair, Secretary, 2 terms as Lion Chief, and currently serves as Membership Chair.

Lion Charlene has also served as Zone Chair 51E 2012-13, A15 LFC Chair, CEP Facilitator, attended USA/Canada Forum, and is accepted to 2014 ALLI in March.

Passion, enthusiasm and dedication to Lions Service, enriching the lives of those less fortunate, and serving with like minded Lions is the foundation and drive that fuels the Lions fire for PZC Lion Char.
