Peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, Wray passed away on October 7, 2021 in his 95th year.

Dad to Brenda and Ray Goodbrand, Lorie and Jim Hanes, Shelley and Ed Hunter and Kevin and Angela Smith; Poppa to Shannon, Stacy, Sean, Laura, Victoria and Cole; Great Poppa to Charlie, Rae, Marchello, Carlina, Josie, Desi, Gordie and Cruz; father figure to Marilyn and Ron Howden, Kim and Ron VanSickle and David Dyment. Also survived by brother Fred Smith, as well as many nieces and nephews. Wray was predeceased by his first wife Laura (nee Dyment, 1978) and second wife Joan (nee Butter, 2010).

Born, raised and thrived in Troy his whole life. Wray was an exceptional hockey player and coached several teams after hanging up his skates. Wray was an avid sports fan and his Hamilton Tiger Cats, Toronto Maple Leafs, and more recently the Toronto Blue Jays, had a loyal fan in Wray. He worked over 40 years for the Western Ontario Cattle Breeders and made many lifetime friends with the farmers he served. He was a Lions Clubs member for over 75 years, a member of the Oddfellow Lodge, and an active member in Troy United Church. Wray was a community man supporting many local organizations and clubs. Dad loved to travel and listen to his country music.

The family would like to express our gratitude to Dr. Counter, Dr. Gideon and our exceptional caregiver Bev Hall. Also to lifetime family friends and supporters, Murray, Raymond and Ernie.

Family and friends will be received at the Toll Funeral Home, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 from 6-9 p.m. A Graveside Funeral Service will then be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Mount Zion Cemetery in Copetown, 1324 Concession 2 Road West.
