JAMES BAIRD

Jim passed away peacefully on his own terms at the K-W Campus of Grand River Hospital, on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at the age of 83. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Jean (nee Attwater). Proud father of Jason and Sylvia Baird, Jeremy and Melissa Baird and grandpa to Jack and Hannah and grandpa B to Ben, Joey, and Abby. Also survived by his brother-in-law Erle Newstead. Remembered by his niece Jackie Newstead and nephew Bradley Newstead. Predeceased by his parents Dorothy (Eby) and Alexander Baird, sister Mary Ann Hill (Ron), and sister-in-law Glenda Newstead.

Jim worked at Waterloo North Hydro for 35 years and was an original volunteer of the Wonders of Winter in Waterloo Park. He was a member of the Kitchener Lions Club and was formerly a long-time member of the Waterloo Lions Club. A member of Lions International for 50 years and a Life Member, Jim represented A15 as District Governor from 1981-82.

Jim's second home was his beloved cottage at Amberley where many family and friends came together making memories that will last for many years to come.

Jim's family will receive friends during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Saturday, July 23, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A private family graveside service at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo, will follow.

Condolences for the family and memorial donations to the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides (Training Centre in Breslau, ON) may be arranged by contacting the funeral home at 519-745-8445.
