Howard Wesley Ferguson, of Usborne Township (Hensall) Ontario passed away peacefully at University Hospital in London on May 20th, 2022 at the age of 97.

Beloved husband to the late Lorna Jean Ferguson (nee Young) for 68 years. Loving father to Roger (Laura), Glen (Jan), Wayne (Kim) and Dr. Brian (Barb). Precious grandfather to John Adam, Danielle (Ryan Moir) and Michael (Christine Bilsky). Great-grandfather to Emma Ferguson and to Alex Moir.

Howard can best be described as a “true gentleman”, and this goes beyond opening the car door for his loving wife Lorna. He was civic minded and involved in both the Masons and was a long-time Lions member in Thamesford. Howard supported many projects at Westminster United Church.

He was a successful businessman and entrepreneur. Starting at Riverside Poultry, he eventually bought into the company, then became sales manager at Cold Springs Farm and part owner of Happy Hen Farms. He was well respected by his employees, employers and customers, as well as the competition.

Howard valued life experiences and, with Lorna, travelled to 47 different countries and all over the U.S. and Canada. One of Howard’s highlights was a balloon ride over the beautiful landscape of Kenya.

Above all, Howard was a loving husband and a truly “family man”. He showered Lorna with affection throughout their marriage. He loved to have his four sons and their families around him, taking special interest in his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. We are all hoping to strive to live up to the values he passed on to us and will miss him dearly.

Special thanks to the staff at Amica who enriched Howard’s life.
