Peacefully, on March 21st, 2022, at home with his family and friends.
Beloved husband of Barbara. Loving father of Anna (Andrew Wyman), Lisa (Shane Parks) and Paul (Niki). Dear Grandpa of Dario, Dante, Jordan, Nico, Sid and Casey “Dino”. Emidio will be missed by his sister Amina, brothers Maurizio and Angelo and many nieces, nephews and cousins in both Canada and Italy. Emidio was born in Castelli, Abruzzo, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1967. He worked for many years at Keeprite and later established E&M Copper Products. Emidio was very proud of his Italian roots and of the life he built in Canada. Emidio worked tirelessly to build a life for his family. He took great pride in caring for his family and enjoyed his many adventures travelling and reconnecting with his roots. He will be remembered for his great smile, quick wit and wink of an eye. The family will receive friends at the “THORPE BROTHERS’ FUNERAL HOME”, 96 West St., on Tuesday, March 29th, 2022 from 2-4pm and 6-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, 9 Waverly St., on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 11am. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations to Brant Community Healthcare System Foundation, the Juravinski Cancer Centre or the Stedman Community Hospice Outreach Program would be appreciated.
