Passed away peacefully at Stedman Hospice on January 4, 2022 at the age of 77. Beloved husband and best friend of Joyce (nee Hanes) for 55 wonderful years. Cherished father of Sharon (Dave) Gowland, Carolyn (John) McCorkindale, Joanne (Carson) Brown and Laura (Mark) Coleman. Amazing grandpa to Kaitlyn (Jay), Sarah, Rachel, Jane, Jesse, Calvin, Claire, Quinn, Josie, Sam, Hannah, Charlotte and Gavin and great-grandfather to Owen and baby soon to arrive in March. Dear brother of Ruth (John). Will also be missed by many other family and friends.
Bruce was a life time farmer and lover of the land he lived and farmed in Troy all his life. Family and farming were truly life passions for Bruce, but he did have his hand in a few other things. He was past President and life member of the Rockton Agricultural Society, past Ontario Holstein member and director, past member of the Hamilton Wentworth Milk Committee, past member of the North Wentworth Plowman’s Association, past President and member of the Rockton Lions Club. A very proud recipient of the Hamilton-Wentworth Farmer of the Year, accomplished the Master Breeder award from Holstein Canada and a very respected 4H leader.
Respecting Bruce’s wishes and due to the current situation cremation has taken place.
