Hymmen, Ward John Charles;
Passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by the love of family at the age of 81.
Beloved husband of Therese Hymmen (nee Buller). Dear father of Paula Hicknell (Chris), Jessica Eulenberg (Chris), Peter Hymmen (Nicole Piche) and John Hymmen (Serenity Robertson). Grandpa to Casey and Maggie, Max and Willow, Abigail, Emily, Benjamin and Elliot and River. Beloved brother to Lorna Evans (Keith). Predeceased by his parents Kieth and Ruth Hymmen (nee Iredale) and his sister Heather Hymmen.
Ward loved spending time at his cottage in Haliburton where fishing was his priority. There he enjoyed time with family and friends. He relished reading books on ships and sailing and listening to classical music. Ward easily chatted with anyone he met. He was a longtime active member of the Kitchener Pioneer Lions Club.
Ward's family will receive relatives and friends from 5:00 - 8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 and will continue on Thursday, August 22, 2024 from 10:00 - 10:45 AM at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener.
The funeral service will take place in the chapel of the funeral home at 11 AM on Thursday, August 22, 2024 followed by a reception.
