Awesome idea PDG Karen. Fits right in with LCI's Literacy program.

Just wondering why these are better than a local library? We have a great library in Milverton with lots of books, quiet spaces and no charges. In some areas without a library it would be useful though. Does Breslau have a library?

Two each in the two major residential subdivisions of Breslau, Hopewell Heights and Riverland. The latter will be at the Community Centre.

There are currently a few of these in Guelph put up by local residents. A great idea although we have a number of wonderful libraries here in Guelph.

I'm thinking strategically located Little Libraries in areas where there are senior citizens who don't get about as much in the winter...
Or on another slant, perhaps even a "Lions Little Library" Delivery Service to the seniors who can't get out in the winter, or "shut-ins", Working in Conjunction With Your Local Library.
I remember my Mother, who lived in the country and didn't drive, loved receiving a "bag "of four books each month through the mail from our County Library. I don't believe that service is offered anymore.
She filled out a form regarding what genre she enjoyed reading - mysteries, true crime, biographies, etc. The Library made choices based on her age and interests. There was a due date, or return date, indicated on the bag. If she wanted to renew the books longer she would just call the Library.
